The May quest for the Black Pot Expedition in Jellush Season 7 was "Vegan". To be honest, I've been living a pretty far from vegan lifestyle, so this was a great opportunity for me to get a better understanding of the concept, visit a vegan restaurant, try some vegan food... and get a better understanding of veganism.
What is Vegan
Definition of vegan
First off, veganism is simply a vegetarian diet that avoids eating meat and animal-based foods, and today it's used as a more active concept, not just a diet, but also to avoid consuming anything made from the exploitation of animals, such as leather goods, wool, and products that are tested on animals. It's a more strict lifestyle than simply being a vegetarian who doesn't eat meat.
For reference, Rush only sells 100% vegetarian products, 95% of which are vegan. As a side note... the reason it's not called 100% vegan is because it uses honey from bees.
Visit the vegan restaurant Loving Hut Land
I visited a vegan restaurant called Loving Hut Land on the weekend, which opened in 2011 and offers a variety of dishes cooked with soy protein, as well as a gluten-free, low-carb, high-protein, vegan ketogenic diet. It's a small restaurant with about four tables, and pets are allowed.
Restaurant hours and locations
LovingHut Land is located in Gapo-dong. It's close to Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station on the Sindang Line, but it's about a 20-minute walk from there. I visited by car, and there is a small parking lot behind the building.

Testimonials
I ordered the organic roasted tomato pasta, and my friend who was visiting with me ordered the mushroom scroll rice bowl. When you order, they use fresh ingredients and cook it right away. We were served three simple side dishes.
The organic roasted tomato pasta had chewy noodles and a savory oil sauce. It was a bit salty, but it worked well with the roasted tomatoes and broccoli that came with it.
The mushroom rice bowl felt like eating meat even though there was no meat used! The sweet sauce, mushrooms, and various vegetables went well together.
They even served us a delicious dessert, so we left with a full stomach.
It was my first time at a vegan restaurant, and I was honestly surprised at how delicious the food was. I thought, "If this is good, I can be vegan." It was a great experience, and I'm inspired to try to live a little vegan in the future for my health and the environment.
